3. NOTAM / TFR Review

FAA NOTAM Search supports location, geography, Lat/Long and a 20 NM “NOTAMs Around Me” workflow. This dashboard shows the exact GPS coordinates used for the review, live FAA TFR results for the selected state with GPS-distance checks when FAA detail geometry is available. Generic USA-wide notices are excluded from this local panel so current and upcoming state notices remain visible. General NOTAM review remains a separate manual FAA Search step.

FAA TFR feed: CONNECTED. General NOTAM review: MANUAL. Use the official FAA NOTAM Search with the displayed GPS coordinates for the complete preflight check.

Interpretation rule
RED = direct/high-priority restriction review. ORANGE = significant potential conflict. YELLOW = review required. GREEN = the connected check returned no relevant item. GRAY = unavailable/not checked. A color is not authorization to fly.
FAA NOTAM classes emphasized for drone review: AIRSPACE, OBSTRUCTION, MILITARY, NAVAID/GPS, SECURITY and nearby AERODROME notices.

Mission Airspace Profile / Launch Gate

Launch gateLOCKED — AIRSPACE NOT VERIFIED
Record the airspace applicable at the planned operating altitude, including the floor and whether Class E is a surface area or non-surface/overlying airspace. UASFM values are planning/authorization values, not permission to fly.
Hard gate: if authorization is required, START MISSION remains disabled until authorization is APPROVED / VERIFIED. Missing or unknown airspace/authorization information also blocks launch and cannot be bypassed by the operational override.

Pre-Mission External Verification

Required checks are completed close to launch and timestamped. A checked box records that the source was reviewed; it does not by itself mean the airspace is legally clear.
FAA TFR review
Review current and scheduled restrictions affecting the mission area.
NOT CHECKED
FAA NOTAM Search
General NOTAM review for the mission location and planned route/area.
NOT CHECKED
Airspace / authorization source
Check Aloft (primary LAANC provider) for airspace, TFRs and LAANC authorization, or other applicable FAA airspace source.

Flight Service briefing / independent aviation check

Help / Instructions · v1.5.7

Flight type: in Customer / Job, Business flight (Part 107) is checked by default. Uncheck it only for flying purely for fun (carry your TRUST certificate). If in doubt, leave it checked — practice or portfolio flights for the business count as Part 107.

Before every commercial flight (Part 107):

  1. Weather – review GPS / Weather and METAR / TAF for the mission location. Skyrover X1 limits: verify the manufacturer’s current manual before flight; previous HS790 limits do not apply.
  2. Airspace (Aloft) – open the Aloft Air Control app on your phone, enter the mission location, and check airspace class, TFRs and the UAS Facility Map ceiling. Use the Check Aloft buttons on this dashboard as shortcuts.
  3. LAANC – if the location is in controlled airspace, request LAANC authorization in Aloft. Enter the Aloft authorization/reference number in Authorization / LAANC Reference and in the Airspace / LAANC result notes. Class G (uncontrolled) airspace does not need LAANC.
  4. NOTAMs / TFRs – confirm in the NOTAM / TFR section and FAA NOTAM Search.
  5. Night flights – anti-collision strobe on and visible for 3 statute miles for the entire flight.
  6. Checklist – tick each verification item; it is stamped with the time it was checked. Do not launch with items NOT CHECKED.
  7. Records – after the flight, save or print the mission results report for your records.

Carry on every job: Part 107 certificate (temporary certificate valid until about 2027-01-13), drone registration FA34CFYFF4 (marked on the aircraft), and photo ID.

Optional: FAA B4UFLY is a free second opinion for airspace if Aloft is unavailable. It is not required when Aloft has been checked.

This dashboard is a planning and record-keeping tool. It does not grant FAA authorization; the remote pilot in command is responsible for every flight.
